Congratulations on visiting this page. Even choosing to investigate how you might make a change is a step in the right direction.

And perhaps you’ve already tried making changes, but they just aren’t working.

Positive affirmations aren’t for everyone.  Maybe the last counsellor you had wasn’t the right fit. Or the timing wasn’t right.

Either way, you still want to get rid of that horrible feeling inside or make that negative talk stop.

Let’s explore how I might help.

I’m ready to step in and assist you with your anxiety, fears, mental health, and feelings of doubt.

It’s time to stop pushing through each day feeling like it’s a struggle.

Get ready to pause and take the time to do some reflective work.

Together we’ll make the changes you’re searching for.  And see the results.

Adult Counselling

Counselling is a collaboration – a confidential space for looking at our life experiences, finding out who we really are, and developing steps to move forward into the future.

Counselling is for men and women who would like to reduce distress and improve daily functioning.

I specialise in trauma focused therapy and am experienced at working with a wide range of psychological difficulties including:

  • Trauma, PTSD,
  • Survivors of sexual abuse
  • Anxiety, fears, panic,
  • Grief and Loss
  • Family Violence
  • Addiction drug and alcohol

Price: For a standard 50-minute session the fee is $180, paid on the day of your appointment.

Children and Adolescent Counselling (4-13)

Counselling can help children and adolescents with a range of issues, including a history of trauma or sexual abuse, PTSD, anxiety, behavioural problems and in overcoming negative experience.

Using a collaborative approach, I work with you and your child to develop healthy relationships (both within yourselves and towards each other).

I use a mix of play therapy models, including SPT, EMDR, Sandtray and Symbols. Individual needs are assessed, and the treatment is tailored accordingly.

While your child will remain the focus of the counselling, you will be involved in the beginning to provide integral information. Throughout the process you will be given updates on your child’s progress.

If you are a parent or carer referring your child for counselling, it is important that I have the opportunity to meet with you alone prior to working with your child. This allows for information to be gathered openly about your child, and for you to ask any questions – ensuring I am the right fit for you and your family.

You can click here for more information on EMDR, and here for more information on Synergetic Play Therapy.

Price: Sessions are 50-60 minutes at a cost of $180 per session.

Parent Counselling

Parenting can be challenging. We often question if we are saying or doing the right thing. We may query if the way we are managing a situation is aligning with the parent we thought we’d be.

I offer Parent counselling and education, using evidenced based approaches, to help parents understand their child’s behaviours or symptoms.

I draw from Trauma Model, Developmental and Attachment theories.

Price: Sessions are 50-60 minutes at a cost of $180 per session.

You can be referred by your GP with a Mental Health Care Plan, which entitles you to the Medicare rebate and SIX sessions. After the SIX sessions you can return to your GP for a review of your Mental Health Care Plan and a new referral if you wish to continue. This will entitle you to a further FOUR sessions.

“The synergy that emerges in the playroom when working from a Synergetic Play Therapy® framework allows a deep level of attunement to emerge similar to the unspoken connection twins feel or the attunement that occurs between a caregiver and an infant.”

– Lisa Dion, LPC, RPT-S

I want to make sure you feel comfortable working with me…

The first step is for you to request an appointment online.

We’ll then have a brief intake call of around 20 minutes to let you decide if I feel like the right person for you and/or your family. It’s always your choice.

The next step is an intake appointment in the office where you give me your brief history, set some intentions for your counselling, and ask me more questions if you have them. There’s still no obligation to proceed if I don’t feel quite right.

But if you do, we’ll book another appointment.

In fact, we’ll have six sessions together before we review how we are going with our initial intentions (goals). At this point, you may wish to continue or have a break and return in the future for another block of work.

You always have a choice. And we will always work as a team.

Hopefully I hear from you soon. I can’t wait to help.
